ISSUE OVERVIEW
The Koi Garden sensor may become inconsistent or overly sensitive, causing:
- False triggers
- Missed detections
- Unstable gameplay behavior
This sensor CANNOT be configured via the Microcontroller Configurator and must be calibrated manually on-site.
IMPORTANT NOTE
- This sensor requires physical interaction
- Calibration must be performed on location
- Remote fixes (Device Manager / Configurator) will NOT resolve this issue
WHEN TO RECALIBRATE
Recalibration is required if the sensor:
- Triggers without player interaction
- Fails to trigger when it should
- Feels inconsistent between attempts
- Appears too sensitive or not sensitive enough
CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
Step 1: Access the Sensor
- Locate the sensor inside the Koi Garden setup
- Reach into the space on the opposing side of the sensor as to not to obstruct it while calibrating. Usually this is to the right.
Step 2: Proper Hand Positioning
- Approach the button from underneath the sensor
Step 3: Recalibrate the Sensor
- Press the calibration button on the sensor
- This now recognizes the empty space. Make sure that nothing is in the way (including your hand)
- Give it a couple seconds to set.
- You'll now tap the button again and wave your hand at the furthest possible point from the sensor.
Step 4: Test the Sensor
- Trigger the sensor multiple times
- Confirm:
- Consistent detection
- No false positives
- Proper responsiveness
TROUBLESHOOTING
Issue: Sensor still too sensitive
- Recalibrate again, ensuring:
- Your hand is not blocking the sensor
- You are pressing from underneath properly
Issue: Still inconsistent after multiple calibrations
- Check for:
- Physical obstructions
- Dirt/debris on sensor
- Loose wiring or connection
Issue: No response at all
- Verify:
- Sensor is powered
- Connected properly to the system
- If unresponsive → escalate for hardware inspection/replacement
