๐ BUTTON TESTING PROCEDURE โ ALL ROOMS
๐ OVERVIEW
Button testing is a diagnostic process used to verify that all physical buttons within a room are functioning correctly and communicating with the microcontroller.
This process can be performed on any room using the Tech PC.
๐ป ACCESSING THE ROOM (TECH PC)
- Connect to the Tech PC using TeamViewer
- Navigate to the appropriate room (Example: Control Room)
- Click and highlight the room you are looking to access.
โ ๏ธ IMPORTANT BEFORE STARTING
- Confirm no players are inside the room
- Close the room via the "Stop/Start" function.
๐งช STARTING BUTTON TEST MODE
- Locate and click โTEST BUTTONSโ (bottom of the screen)
- A confirmation prompt will appear:
- โAre you sure you want to test buttons?โ
- Select YES to proceed
โ๏ธ CONFIGURING BUTTON TEST
- The Button Test Configuration Window will appear
- Ensure the area/section you want to test is checked (Check STARTING BUTTON TEST MODE IMAGE)
- Click:
- CONNECT
- Then RUN TEST
๐ UNDERSTANDING RESULTS
Once the test is running, button statuses will display visually:
๐ด RED (WORKING)
- Button is detected and functioning properly
- Microcontroller is receiving input
- Button will light up physically
โช WHITE (NOT WORKING)
- Button is NOT being detected
- Possible issues:
- Faulty button - 5 minute fix
- Wiring issue - 20 minute fix
- Port issue on button board - Quick fix IF you have the board. No board will require shipment.
๐ข BUTTON IDENTIFICATION
- Bold Number = Button Number
Number Above = Port on Button Board
Use this to:
- Identify the exact failing button
- Trace wiring or replace specific components
๐ ๏ธ NEXT STEPS (IF ISSUES FOUND)
- Physically inspect the button
- Check wiring connections
- Replace button if necessary
- Re-test after repair

- Always re-run the test after any fix
- Ensure stable connection before testing
- If multiple buttons fail, investigate the button board or microcontroller
